At Dot Transportation, Inc. (DTI), we are proud of the stability we offer our drivers and their families. In 2020, we are celebrating the 60th anniversary of Dot Foods and the 29th anniversary of DTI, and we are proud to report that we have never had a layoff—ever.

DTI is still running strong and is a part of Dot Foods—the largest food industry redistributor in North America. With a consistent history of growth and constant development, driving for Dot allows you to build a career, not just have a job.

Whether you are looking for a competitive salary and benefits, weekly home time, state-of-the-art equipment, or all of the above—you can find it at DTI. DTI offers you a lifestyle of balance and reputable job security. Plus, we offer this no matter your driving experience.

1. Experienced or Not, We Want You on Our Team

Experienced Drivers

At Dot, we appreciate your expertise. You’ve put in the time, and you’ve got over 200,000 miles under your belt. You’re confident on the road. You’re a customer service expert. You take pride in being one of the safest drivers on the road

Because of that, all experienced Dot drivers are compensated $1,250 per week during orientation and training when you first start your Dot career.

From Day One as a Dot Driver, You’ll Get:

You’ll be Given Your Own Truck: This means no sharing space, and you’ll have equipment consistency while on the road.

Vacation Time Bridge: We will make sure the vacation you were receiving at your last employer transfers over to Dot. Guaranteed.

Health Benefits: You and your family will be covered by Dot’s health insurance starting on day one. No questions asked.

Guaranteed First-Year Pay: In your first year, we guarantee that you will be on the road, driving enough miles, and delivering enough loads to make your promised first-year pay.

Student & Inexperienced Drivers

We actively recruit from Dot-approved truck driving schools nationwide. As long as our new drivers have attended an accredited school, we will reimburse them for their truck driving school tuition. If your schooling has been completed within the past three years, we’ll reimburse you for up to $7K of your tuition starting 90 days after your first day at Dot. The reimbursement will happen over a three-year period.

DTI has one of the best finishing programs in the country. We take our drivers through a training and orientation program that shows them the ins and outs of Dot’s business. During that training time, student/inexperienced drivers will make $750 per week.

2. Compensation

At Dot, we are constantly putting our employees first and reinvesting in them. We want to make sure you are taken care of. We know the job market is competitive, so we prioritize paying you well and fairly.

Full-time Dot Delivery Driver

In 2019, our full-time Dot delivery drivers averaged $92K and our full-time no-touch drivers averaged $84K. They made that much because our drivers get paid for more than just their miles. We get that truck driving is hard work, so we want you to be compensated for every part of the job, including delivering products, making pickups, and unloading freight.

Dot drivers also get quarterly and annual bonuses, paid time off, holidays, and sick days. Not to mention the incentive-based pay our different locations have to offer.

3. Benefits

You should be well taken care of—for that reason, we offer one of the top benefits packages in the industry that is worth over $22K. Ensuring you are covered and protected is another one of our top priorities. You will have access to a competitive medical, dental, and vision insurance plan. You will also get short-term and long-term disability that’s paid for by Dot.

No one wants to work forever, so we have a lucrative retirement savings plan that allows our employees to prepare for their last day of work. Drive for Dot and you’ll get a 401(k) retirement plan with a company match, be a part of our companywide profit sharing plan, and earn company bonuses.

4. History of Growth

Since Dot Foods’ founding in 1960 and DTI’s founding in 1991, we’ve grown from one man and his red station wagon to over 5,800 employees and a fleet of over 1,700 drivers. And, in 2019, we made over $8 billion in profits.

Our employees are an essential part of our history of growth. Without our company drivers, our freight wouldn’t be able to touch all corners of the country. Plus, our increase in the number of Dot locations has allowed us to offer regional truck driving jobs to all of our drivers, which helps us guarantee more home time and a consistent work/life balance.

5. Unwavering Stability

Because of our history of growth, we’ve never laid off a single employee. And we do not see that changing in the future. Our goal is to always put the employee first—not only with our compensation and benefits, but also with our business strategy, future plans, and new initiatives.
