Partners & Military
When our drivers serve our customers, they are part of something greater than themselves. We bet you know a thing or two about that. If you are looking for a career beyond your military service, consider Dot Transportation, Inc. (DTI).
Discover Honor
Our founder, Robert Tracy, honorably served our country during World War II. For this reason, DTI honors military veterans and has increased the number of veterans hired tenfold in the last 10 years.
Plus, 96 percent of our veteran drivers would recommend this job to other veterans.
What We Offer to Veteran Drivers
Veteran Employee Resource Group
DTI provides veteran drivers the chance to participate in the Veteran Employee Resource Group (VERG) to help recruit, retain, and improve our opportunities for veterans. This group not only helps our employees but also conducts community service in our surrounding communities to support veterans.
Army PaYS Program
One of our goals is to help veterans transition from their military service to a fulfilling driving career. We work with the Army PaYS program—which guarantees a job interview for veterans—and with Army transition offices in the U.S. to recruit transitioning personnel.
VA-Approved Apprenticeship
Many of our veteran drivers have come to us through a VA-approved apprenticeship.
Illinois Hires Heroes Consortium
We have also hired many veterans at our Mt. Sterling and University Park locations through the Illinois Hires Heroes Consortium.
Driver Spotlight
Harry Graham
A 15-year veteran of the Armed Services, Harry Graham sought a career with a military-friendly company that would let him see the world and grant him the flexibility to remain a member of the Reserves. He also needed to feel a sense of camaraderie with his fellow team members, just as he had throughout his years of military service.
“Military Makeover: Operation Career”
We’re proud to have been selected to share a few of these stories on an episode of “Military Makeover: Operation Career”.
Watch “Military Makeover: Operation Career” hosted by Montel Williams for an in-depth look at how Dot Transportation is supporting our veterans in their post-military careers as well as their personal lives.
From Our Veterans
“In the military, you’ve got your leaders and good leaders care for their subordinates. And here at DTI, I’ve felt like I’m part of a family.”
“DTI’s been great to me and my family. I get home when I need to be. They’re really flexible with me. It just shows you how much they care about their people—veterans included.”
“The Core Values from the Army are loyalty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage. In my eyes, all of these have a relation to how DTI operates every single day.”
