Today, and every day, Dot Transportation celebrates and honors our military veterans and the sacrifices they have made.
Their sacrifices do not just happen on the battlefield. They happen in homes and workplaces in communities — and on roads — across the country. The sacrifice of their time is just as important as the bravery shown in war — and often much more difficult. These sacrifices are what make veterans special.
Transforming Our Trailers
We need your help! As a way to honor our military veterans, we’d like you to help us choose Dot Transportation’s next military-themed trailer. Check out the three designs and cast your vote above. Voting will continue through August 19, and we will announce the winning design on Veterans Day, November 11.
“This project is truly an honor and privilege to design. It gives me an opportunity to celebrate and pay tribute to those who have served,” says Yvette Seal, senior graphic designer for Dot Foods, Inc. and artist of these three designs. “Knowing the visibility and popularity of the truck, it’s been important to do it justice. I created three designs that are respectful and inclusive to all veterans. I used images that are iconic and bold to blend what I feel represents the respect we owe our veterans.”
A Longstanding Commitment to Our Veterans
This new military-themed trailer will be the second of its type in our fleet. Dot Transportation, Inc. (DTI) debuted the first military-themed truck back in 2016. Our military-themed trailers are designed to honor all members of the U.S. Armed Forces. DTI’s veteran employees drive the trailer, which is pulled by Dot’s traditional blue tractor.
Dot’s co-founder, Robert ‘RT’ Tracy, served in the U.S. Marines. Today, military veterans work in all facets of our business, including drivers, warehouse personnel, logistics and corporate services. 96% of our veteran employees recommend driving for Dot. At Dot, veterans can leverage what they know best—hard work and dedication—for a successful career.
At Dot Transportation, one of our goals, and part of our company culture, is to make transitions from military service into a fulfilling driving career. Our Veterans Affair-Approved Apprenticeship Program helps guarantee job interviews for veterans, working closely with Army transition offices in the U.S. to recruit transitioning personnel.
